IADMS Meeting 2013, Seattle USA
What a fantastic program!! So many sessions to choose from, such a variety, impossible to attend them all.
Favourite sessions included – “Exploring FM Alexander’s concept of ‘antagonistic action’ through the double spiral musculature of the body” (Movement session), Rebecca Nettl-Fiol and Luc Vanier; “Correlation between static and dynamic core strength and injury in collegiate dancers over one semester”, Matthew Grierson; “The emotional intelligence profile of vocational dance students: identifying criteria for promoting self-development and well-being”, Antoinette van Staden.
Our stand was very busy. USA teachers loved LMDTS – why not, it’s so comprehensive and logical.
Congratulations to Janet Karin OAM, the new president of IADMS, to Debra Crookshanks, new board member, and to all the Aussies who presented at the meeting, especially LMDTS teachers Jane Andrewartha, Alice Hobden and Terrie wayside.
2014 IADMS meeting is in Basel, Switzerland. If you are a dance teacher at any level, this is for you!! There is a Special Interest Group Day for teachers as well as the 3 days of the meeting.
