GENERAL ASSESSMENT INFORMATION
All assessments are held in the form of a class conducted by the teacher, held at the school’s studio. The students are thus presenting themselves in a familiar setting.
Guidelines are issued for preparation and presentation of assessments. There is no set work.
Using the LMDTS manuals ‘Dance Is…..’, ‘Help Them Dance’, ‘LMDTS Benchmarking Handbook’, ‘LMDTS Examples Exercises’ and ‘LMDTS Example Progressions Handbook, teachers prepare their own class presentations in accordance with the progression achieved by their students at that particular time.
Teachers will receive written and/or verbal feedback for their presentations, to assist with subsequent preparation and presentations.
This approach encourages flexibility and creativity in the presentation of students for assessments. The timing of presentations is also flexible, from February to October. Other times may be considered by negotiation.
